Welcome to Nochevieja 2026/2027 in A Coruña

Nochevieja, Spain’s New Year’s Eve, falls in A Coruña on the night of 31 December 2026 into 1 January 2027. The city centre is the natural meeting point, but an official municipal programme with a fixed square, concert or fireworks display has not yet been published.

Spending the turn of the year in Galicia here means the Spanish midnight tradition, busy streets and a strong nightlife of restaurants, bars and private parties. Public times and venues should be planned only after the city council announces them.

Highlights & Attractions at Nochevieja in A Coruña

  • Twelve grapes with the twelve chimes at midnight, the classic Spanish Nochevieja tradition
  • New Year in the city centre of A Coruña, with the exact public meeting point still unconfirmed
  • Restaurant dinners and private New Year parties as the main alternative to a street celebration
  • Bars and clubs that carry Galician nightlife into the early hours
  • The atmosphere of an Atlantic port city rather than a confirmed large-scale concert
  • Free access to public streets and squares; venues charge separately
  • A clear reminder to check coruna.gal and visitcoruna.com once the official programme is released

Program & Schedule: What to Expect in 2026

A Coruña has not yet published a binding programme for Nochevieja 2026/2027. An official midnight concert or a single municipal fireworks show therefore cannot be confirmed. In recent years the streets filled around midnight, and fireworks were set off in several neighbourhoods. That describes previous years only and is not an announced plan for 2026/2027.

The usual Spanish rhythm still applies. Dinner starts late, often around 21:00 or 22:00. At midnight each person eats one grape per chime and makes a wish. Many people then continue in bars and clubs. Whether 2026/2027 will add special night buses, road closures or a public stage is normally announced by the council only shortly before the date.

Tickets & Admission for Nochevieja A Coruña

There is no admission fee for public streets and squares in A Coruña, and there is no single ticket for Nochevieja. Restaurant menus, private parties and club nights are sold separately. Fixed euro prices for 2026/2027 have not been published as one official range and should be checked with each venue. City updates are posted on coruna.gal and by Turismo de A Coruña at visitcoruna.com.

Visitor Tips: Travel & Accommodation in A Coruña

  • The railway station and bus station are close to the centre. For the night itself, check the Compañía de Tranvías special timetable once it is issued for 31 December 2026. Do not reuse a previous year’s schedule.
  • Late December on the Atlantic coast is mild but often windy and wet. A waterproof coat and solid shoes are more useful than very light clothing.
  • Book hotels in the centre or near Orzán early for the night of 31 December into 1 January. That night is in high demand across Galicia.
  • Buy grapes in advance. In Spain, small packs of exactly twelve grapes sell out quickly before midnight.
  • Do not plan around a concert or official fireworks until the council confirms the place and programme. Reserve dinner menus and club tickets separately.
