Welcome to the Nuremberg Autumn Folk Festival 2026
From 28 August to 13 September 2026, the Volksfestplatz by the Dutzendteich lake once again turns into a huge fairground for families and festival lovers. This year the Herbstvolksfest celebrates its 200th anniversary, and the extended program includes special shows, two fireworks displays and numerous special offers.

Program
The anniversary festival opens on 28 August 2026 with the traditional keg tapping ceremony by Mayor Marcus König. On the two Family Days, Wednesday 2 and 9 September, all rides cost half price between 2 PM and 9 PM, and many stalls offer discounted food and drinks as well. On 1 and 8 September from 2 PM, everyone over 65 is invited to a relaxed gathering. A highlight for circus fans is the guest performance of the Geschwister Weisheit, an artist family with tradition since 1900, from 3 to 12 September. More than 150 stalls, rides, games, shooting galleries and food stands spread across the grounds, alongside beer tents and beer gardens with brass band music and party songs.
Tickets
Admission to the festival grounds is free. Rides, food and drinks are paid individually; a ride typically costs around 2 to 5 euros depending on the attraction, with larger rides costing more. A liter of beer in the tent costs around 9 to 11 euros, while non alcoholic drinks are cheaper.
Visitor Tips
- Traveling by tram, bus or to the Dutzendteich S Bahn stop is recommended, as parking is limited.
- On Family Days, arrive around 2 PM for shorter waiting times at the rides.
- Dogs are not allowed on the festival grounds.
- On the last day, opening hours are extended until 11:30 PM.
- Opening hours vary by day; weekends and days before public holidays stay open until midnight.
