Welcome to the Oerol Festival 2027 on Terschelling
From June 11 to 20, 2027, the Dutch Wadden Sea island of Terschelling transforms for the 46th time into Europe's largest site specific arts festival. For ten days, the whole island, from dunes and forests to beaches and old barns, becomes a stage for theatre, music, dance and visual art.

Program and Schedule: What to Expect on Terschelling
The festival traditionally opens on a Friday and closes ten days later on a Sunday. Alongside the large location performances, street theatre, spoken word and live music at the festival hub De Deining shape the daily program. Since weather and tides play a real role on Terschelling, it is worth checking the daily forecast and tide times published by the organizers once the festival starts. The full 2027 program is usually released in spring.
Tickets and Admission for the Oerol Festival 2027
A festival wristband is required to access the festival grounds, and separate tickets are needed for individual location performances. Exact 2027 prices have not yet been announced; for the 2026 edition, the regular festival wristband cost 75 euros, or 60 euros in early bird presale. Jopies between 18 and 35 paid 40 euros, and children up to 17 paid 15 euros. Day wristbands are also available but tend to go on sale later in the season.
Visitor Tips: Travel and Accommodation on Terschelling
- The island is reached from Harlingen by fast ferry in about 50 minutes or by the regular ferry in around two hours
- Most visitors get around the island by bicycle, so renting one for the full festival period is worthwhile
- Changeable weather is part of the Oerol experience, so layered and weatherproof clothing is recommended
- Accommodation, campsites and holiday parks on Terschelling fill up quickly during the festival, so booking early is strongly advised
