The Open Flair Festival 2027 takes place from 4 to 8 August in Eschwege, Germany, turning the entire town into a vibrant festival site. Organised since 1985 by the non-profit Arbeitskreis Open Flair e.V., it offers rock, punk, indie, alternative and more across multiple stages around the Werdchen, Schlosspark and Werratalsee. Up to 20,000 visitors enjoy five days of music, cabaret and a children’s programme right in the heart of this Hessian town.

Program & Schedule: What to Expect in 2027
Open Flair 2027 features a diverse line-up spanning rock, punk, indie, alternative and related genres. Confirmed artists include Die Ärzte, AnnenMayKantereit, Sondaschule, Swiss & Die Andern, Jet, Mia., Engst, Esther Graf, Montreal, Nikra and Heavysaurus. The full timetable and additional acts will be published on the official website in due course. Alongside the music there will be cabaret, poetry slam, performances and a children’s programme (still being finalised). Stages are spread across the Werdchen (island in the Werra river), the Altes E-Werk, Schlosspark and the Seebühne at Werratalsee, creating a true city-wide festival experience.

Tickets for Open Flair Festival 2027 are available via the official shop at shop.open-flair.de. Early-bird tickets started at €119 and have sold out; subsequent tiers up to the “NochNichtEndPreisTicket” (€189) are also sold out. Currently available options include multi-day passes from around €199 (without camping) and €249 (with camping). Reduced “Kid” tickets are offered for ages 12–14. Day tickets are typically released later. Prices may change – always check the latest availability and categories directly in the shop. Purchasing through the official shop is strongly recommended.
Visitor Tips: Travel & Accommodation in Eschwege
- Getting there: Eschwege sits in the triangle between Kassel, Göttingen and Erfurt and is easily reached via the A38, A4 and A7 motorways. By train, alight at Eschwege-Stadt station; the festival areas are within walking distance. Follow the official festival camping and parking signage.
- Weather & clothing: August can be warm and sunny but also rainy – pack weatherproof, comfortable clothes, sturdy shoes and sun protection.
- Accommodation: Camping is available next to the site (with the appropriate ticket). Hotels and guesthouses in and around Eschwege should be booked early as capacity is limited.
- Check-in: Exchange your ticket for a festival wristband at the designated stations (camping area and Werdchen).
- Tip: Parts of the town centre are traffic-calmed or closed during the festival – explore on foot or by bike and enjoy the local food and drink offerings.
