The four-day celebration blends centuries of Bulgarian rose cultivation with the town's unique mineral water and spa traditions. Program
The festival traditionally runs for four days around the end of the second week of June. The centrepiece is the rose-picking ceremony on the fields surrounding Pavel Banya, where visitors join locals in harvesting the Rosa Damascena – the famous oil-bearing Damask rose – by hand in the cool morning hours. This is followed by a live demonstration of rose oil extraction in traditional copper stills. The emotional highlight of the festival is the grand gala evening for the election of the Queen of the Rose, featuring acclaimed Bulgarian artists and folk dance formations. Throughout the festival, the improvised Village Yards showcase the food, costumes and customs of every community in the municipality.

Pavel Banya lies in the western part of the Kazanlak Valley (Rose Valley), framed by the Balkan Mountains and the Sredna Gora range. The municipality is one of Bulgaria's leading rose oil producers, and the town's mineral springs have made it a renowned spa destination for over a century.
