Welcome to picture on festival 2026
On 7 and 8 August 2026, the 350 person village of Bildein in southern Burgenland (right on the Hungarian border) turns into a festival stage for the 22nd time. The picture on festival is one of Austria's most beloved boutique festivals; it takes place right in the village center, next to the church under a huge plane tree. The lineup mixes rock, reggae, electronic, ska, punk and world music across two stages (the main stage and the smaller Uhudler stage).

Program
On Friday, 7 August, acts including My Ugly Clementine (8:00 PM, main stage) and Inner Circle (9:45 PM) open the festival, with H Blockx headlining the Friday main stage at 11:45 PM. On Saturday, 8 August, Cari Cari (8:00 PM) and 2raumwohnung (9:45 PM) perform, with Clawfinger closing the Saturday main stage at 11:45 PM. Around 30 acts from Austria, Hungary and international headliners play across the two stages, with brass music and emerging talent filling the gaps in between.
Tickets
The 2026 picture on festival sold out completely: the festival pass cost between 119 and 139 euros depending on the presale phase, while single day tickets for Friday or Saturday cost 69 to 79 euros. Camping and parking are included in the ticket price. Children up to 12 years enter free, and wheelchair users plus a companion receive two tickets for the price of one. Because capacity is strictly limited by the village setting, buying tickets very early through the official website is strongly recommended for future editions.
Visitor Tips
- Secure tickets as early as possible; the festival tends to sell out fast.
- Traveling by shuttle bus is recommended, as Bildein is a small village with limited parking.
- Camping is included in the ticket price; bring your own tent and gear.
- Avoid second hand tickets and suspicious offers on social media.
- Bring some cash to try Pinkawossa (the village's famous red water) and local Uhudler wine.
