Visitor Tips: Travel & Accommodation in Amsterdam

  • Getting there: from Amsterdam Centraal take tram 13 or 17; trams 3, 7 and 19 also serve the area. Address: Hannie Dankbaarpassage 18, 1053 RT Amsterdam (Oud-West).
  • Weather: early October can be cool and wet. A light jacket is usually enough indoors; bring a waterproof layer for the street.
  • Book hotels in Oud-West, Jordaan or near Centraal Station early — the first October weekend is busy in Amsterdam.
  • Bring a bank card: the festival is PIN only. Buy extra tokens if you plan to taste beyond the four included pours.
  • Taste responsibly: glasses are small, but 40-plus beers add up. Use public transport or a bicycle (e.g. Bellamyplein bike parking) rather than driving.
