The Porz Island Festival (Porzer Inselfest) is a four day folk festival in the Porz district of Cologne, organised by the local CDU party since 1978. Known as Germany's biggest CDU festival, it draws tens of thousands of visitors every year. It takes place right at Die Groov, a popular Rhine riverside promenade between Zündorf and the river, with fairground rides, a varied stage programme and Rhineland conviviality for all ages.

Where does the Porz Island Festival take place?
The festival takes place at Die Groov in Cologne Zündorf, right on the Rhine. The easiest way to get there is by taking Stadtbahn line 7 to the Zündorf stop; alternatively, a small ferry carries visitors from Die Groov across the Rhine to Weiß, making the area popular with cyclists who want to ride down one bank of the river and back on the other.
