Event Details

What is Positivus Festival?

The Positivus Festival is widely regarded as the biggest and most popular music festival in the Baltics. Founded in 2007, it was held until 2019 in the coastal town of Salacgrīva, with stages set among pine forests right on the Baltic Sea. Since 2022 the festival has moved to the heart of Riga, first to Lucavsala Park. From 2026 onward it takes place as a one day event at the historic open air venue Mežaparka Lielā estrāde (Mežaparks Great Bandstand), a landmark in central Riga with room for around 30,000 visitors. Musically the festival spans a wide range: indie, pop, hip hop and electronic music, mixing local Latvian talent with international acts.

When is Positivus Festival 2027?

Official dates for 2027 have not been announced yet (TBA); the organizers traditionally confirm the date and ticket sale start on the official website positivusfestival.com and through Facebook and Instagram. Historically the festival has taken place in July or early August; the 2026 edition was held on 6 August as a one day event at Mežaparks, headlined by Calvin Harris. A similar summer timing is expected for 2027, and this article will be updated as soon as the date is confirmed.

Where is the festival held in Riga?

The venue is Mežaparka Lielā estrāde (Ostas prospekts 11, Riga), a culturally historic open air stage in the Mežaparks forest park in the north of Riga. Built in the 1950s as the traditional stage for the Latvian Song and Dance Festival, the venue offers a unique natural setting among old pine trees right within the city. The park is a short tram or bus ride from central Riga.

Program and Lineup

The Positivus lineup changes every year and typically pairs international headliners with rising talent and strong Latvian acts. With the move to a one day format in Mežaparks in 2026, the lineup narrowed to a handful of major names, including Calvin Harris, MK and Syn Cole, instead of a multi day, multi stage program. Whether this more compact format continues in 2027 is not yet known; the lineup for 2027 has not been published and will be added here once announced.

Tickets for Positivus Festival 2027

Ticket sales for 2027 have not opened yet; prices and the on sale date will be announced by the organizers through the official ticket page and the Latvian ticketing partner Biļešu Serviss. For comparison, presale for the 2026 edition opened in February, with prices starting at around 86 euros. Buying early is advisable, as Positivus regularly sells out to an international audience.
