Welcome to the Prague Christmas Market at Old Town Square 2026
From 28 November 2026 to 6 January 2027, the historic Old Town Square (Staroměstské náměstí) in the heart of Prague transforms into a truly magical winter wonderland. Set against the dramatic backdrop of Gothic and Baroque architecture, including the Church of Our Lady before Týn and the famous Old Town Hall, this popular market offers a uniquely romantic atmosphere that enchants visitors from around the globe.

The market is open daily from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM, and uniquely remains open on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day. A major daily highlight is the ceremonial illumination of the grand Christmas tree, accompanied by classical music. A stage in the square hosts regular afternoon and evening performances by local choirs and folk groups, filling the air with traditional Czech Christmas carols and adding to the deeply festive spirit.
