Welcome to the Prague Fringe Festival 2027 in Prague

From May 28 to June 5, 2027, the historic Lesser Town (Malá Strana) in Prague once again becomes a stage for international theatre. The Prague Fringe Festival is often described as Prague's answer to the famous Edinburgh Fringe and has spent more than two decades championing offbeat, unconventional performance.

Highlights and Attractions at the Prague Fringe Festival

  • Around 40 different productions with more than 200 performances across nine festival days
  • Performers from many countries around the world, all shows presented in English
  • Unusual venues scattered through the old town, from medieval basement halls to classic black box theatres
  • A mix of theatre, comedy, music and magic, with several shows a day running back to back
  • The Fringe Club as the social meeting point for audiences, artists and staff long into the night
  • Malostranská beseda on Malostranské náměstí serving as the festival's central hub

Program and Schedule: What to Expect in 2027

Performances run from early afternoon well into the night, spread across several venues in the Lesser Town. Because many shows repeat several times a day, checking the official program once it is published in spring 2027 is well worth it. The full 2027 line up has not yet been announced.

Tickets and Admission for the Prague Fringe Festival

The festival runs entirely cash free, with card payment only. At the previous edition, advance tickets cost 300 Czech koruna (around 12.40 euros) per show, rising to 350 koruna (around 14.50 euros) at the door. There is a single price for everyone, with no separate student, senior or group rates. Tickets can be booked directly through each show listing on the official website, and a few venues also offer a staffed box office. Final 2027 prices will be confirmed closer to the festival.

Visitor Tips: Travel and Accommodation in Prague

  • Almost all venues sit within walking distance of each other in the Lesser Town, making the festival easy to explore on foot
  • Late May and early June usually bring mild to warm weather to Prague, though a light umbrella is still worth packing
  • Accommodation near the Lesser Town and Prague Castle should be booked early given the central location
  • Since tickets can only be paid by card, visitors should not plan on using cash for admission
