Program & Schedule: What to Expect in Prague on New Year's Eve

The party boats start in the early evening. Guests of the NYE Grand Panoramic River Cruise and the NYE 5* Party Boat board between 19:50 and 20:00, and the boats leave at 20:30. The boarding point is on the river embankment in the city centre, about a ten minute walk from Old Town Square. At midnight the ships moor near Charles Bridge so guests can watch the fireworks from on board. The route can change if the lock is congested or the water level is high. If you prefer a calmer evening, choose the Grand Panoramic Cruise with its live pianist and magic show; if you want to dance, the Party Boat with its DJ, karaoke and dance floor is the better pick. The Midnight Cruise from 22:00 offers live jazz and a shorter trip. There is also an early evening dinner cruise that finishes before midnight, as well as steamboat trips from Na Františku.

For club fans there are two guided tours. On the NYE Bar & Club Party, groups set off from the Old Town at 18:45, 19:45 or 20:45. The first stop is Chapeau Rouge with one hour of free drinks (beer, wine, vodka mixed drinks and Bohemia Sekt), followed by the music bars Onyx or Steampunk and finally Shots Club, where you skip the queue. The pub crawl, which meets at Týnská street, starts at the same times and offers two routes: Plan A goes through Shots Bar & Club and Onyx, KU or Steampunk to Karlovy Lázně; Plan B goes from Chapeau Rouge through Onyx or Steampunk to Shots Bar & Club. The organiser quotes around 400 places and says the tours sell out every year. There are also special editions the evening before and on New Year's Day through Shots Bar & Club, Steampunk and Karlovy Lázně.

Karlovy Lázně stands right beside Charles Bridge and is considered one of the largest clubs in Central Europe. It has several areas: mainstream with a video floor, dance music in a former swimming pool, oldies in a Saturday Night Fever style, hip hop & R'N'B with a ten metre LED equaliser, and a chill out zone. On a normal night it opens at 21:00 and closes at 03:00; the New Year's Eve programme and opening hours for 2026/2027 were not yet fully published at the time of research.

Themed parties and rooftop events complete the picture. Café 80's hosts a "Black & Gold" party in 80s style from 19:00. Fly Vista runs an afternoon drunch from 14:00 to 17:30 and a party from 19:00 to 03:00; ticket sales opened on 1 October with a limited number of early bird tickets. The previous edition featured a 360 degree city view, a burlesque show, DJ sets and a late night buffet. The Prague Marriott offers a DJ, a violinist, dance shows, a magician and a photo booth. La Bodeguita del Medio hosts a Latin night from 19:00, Gabby's Irish Pub and Dutch Pub serve New Year's Eve menus followed by a party, and Casino Ambassador holds its traditional New Year's Eve party from 18:00.

Tickets & Admission for the New Year's Eve Parties in Prague 2026/2027

Prices are well above a normal weekend. The party boats cost between about 330 and 515 euros depending on the table (NYE 5* Party Boat about 330, 412 or 495 euros; Grand Panoramic Cruise about 350, 433 or 515 euros; Midnight Cruise about 247, 278 or 330 euros). The Bar & Club Party costs about 83 euros at the current early bird price, and the pub crawl costs about 70 to 150 euros depending on the price wave, with the first wave already sold out. Café 80's charges about 83 to 95 euros for a menu, the Marriott about 285 euros, Casino Ambassador about 100 euros, Gabby's and Dutch Pub about 81 euros each, and La Bodeguita del Medio from about 41 euros (tickets up to about 161 euros, party from 22:00 about 87 euros). Prices were converted at roughly 24 Czech crowns per euro and may change. The ticket price for Fly Vista was not stated at the time of research. Most parties sell tickets online; many clubs only sell tickets in the days before New Year's Eve, and before midnight a ticket bought in advance is usually required. After midnight some doors still sell tickets, often on a one in, one out basis with long queues.

Visitor Tips: Travel & Accommodation in Prague

  • Plan your ride home in advance: after midnight, Bolt and Uber prices are often three to four times higher than normal, and the centre is very crowded from about 22:00 to 01:00
  • December in Prague is cold, so wear warm clothes and comfortable shoes for the cobblestones; on the boats the dress code ranges from jeans to evening dresses
  • Book your hotel and party tickets early: popular tours and boats often sell out weeks ahead, and boats should be booked at least two weeks in advance
  • Many tours and clubs are 18 and over, while the boats admit guests from 14; bring photo ID
  • Eat before the bar and club tours: the bars do not serve food, and the free drinks last for one hour only
  • Decide where to be at midnight: on a boat or inside a club you will see the fireworks in more comfort than in the crowded streets
