The individual markets have slightly different opening periods and hours. The Christkindlmarkt on Neupfarrplatz runs from 23 November to 23 December 2026 (Sun–Wed 10 am–8 pm, Thu–Sat 10 am–9 pm).   • Arrive by train if possible: From the main station all markets are within a 10–20 minute walk. Parking in the Old Town is limited – use park-and-ride or public transport.
  • November and December can be cold and wet – wear warm, waterproof clothing, sturdy shoes and gloves.
  • Book hotels and guesthouses in the Old Town and near the cathedral early, as the Advent season is very popular.
  • Allow at least a full day to visit several markets. Start at the Lucrezia Market, continue to Neupfarrplatz and finish in the evening at Thurn und Taxis Palace.
  • Carry cash: some stalls accept only cash. Be sure to try the blueberry mulled wine and the original Regensburg sausage.
