What Is Regykla Festival at Ventės Ragas?
Regykla is a new festival of contemporary Baltic culture that debuted in 2026 at one of Lithuania's most unusual locations: the Ventės Ragas headland on the Curonian Lagoon, where the lagoon meets the sky. The festival was created by the organisers of the legendary Mėnuo Juodaragis festival, which held its final edition in 2024 (the Mėnuo Juodaragis Association together with the Baltic music label Dangus / Baltijos Griaustinis), and is widely seen as its spiritual successor; the name "Regykla" roughly translates to "a place to behold or perceive." The program blends folk, ambient and experimental Baltic music with lectures, workshops and nature experiences centered on Baltic mythology and heritage.
Regykla 2027 Dates: Current Status
The debut edition took place from 31 July to 2 August 2026. As of now, the organisers have not yet announced fixed dates for 2027; official dates are typically published on regykla.mjr.lt and the Mėnuo Juodaragis Facebook page. This page will be updated as soon as the 2027 date is confirmed.
How to Get to Ventės Ragas, Lithuania
Ventės Ragas sits at the tip of a headland in the Šilutė district, in the Nemunas Delta region near the village of Kintai. The site is known for its bird ringing station, operating for nearly a century on one of the largest autumn migration routes in the Baltic region. Given the limited local infrastructure and the sensitive nature reserve, organisers recommend carpooling or using organised shuttles during festival days, and suggest planning alternative routes since traffic restrictions around Ventė are likely.
Regykla Festival Program and Highlights
The program is built around two core themes: Nature and Culture. Visitors can expect performances by Baltic and international artists, lectures on the history and mythology of Lithuania Minor (the Memel region), guided nature walks around the ornithological station, and traditional Baltic craft demonstrations. The event date is deliberately chosen to fall after the breeding season but before the start of autumn bird migration, with the program coordinated alongside ornithologists and environmental experts to protect the site's fragile ecosystem.
Regykla Festival Tickets: Prices and Availability
To protect the sensitive nature reserve, attendance is strictly limited; in 2026 a maximum of 1,500 tickets were sold. A fixed ticket price for 2027 has not yet been published; in 2026 prices were tiered and varied depending on purchase timing. Tickets (paper and electronic, both equally valid) are available through regykla.mjr.lt and the festival's shop "Ragainė" in Vilnius Old Town. Permanent residents of the Šilutė district can access special tickets through the Šilutė Culture Centre.
