Welcome to Rhine in Flames Bingen Rüdesheim 2027
On Saturday, 3 July 2027, the romantic Upper Middle Rhine Valley between Trechtingshausen and Bingen / Rüdesheim once again becomes the stage for Rhine in Flames, one of Germany's most famous fireworks events. This year also marks a special milestone: the event has drawn visitors from around the world since 1977, making 2027 its 50th anniversary.

Program
Ships depart in the late afternoon or early evening from Bingen or Rüdesheim and sail past numerous castles into the legendary Upper Middle Rhine Valley. Near Trechtingshausen, the illuminated ship convoy comes together and sails back toward Bingen and Rüdesheim, passing seven fireworks displays along the way. The evening culminates in a grand finale firework that lights up the night sky over both towns. Ships usually return around midnight. Around the event, Rüdesheim offers a supporting program with guided tours through the old town and the Drosselgasse, wine tastings at the Asbach visitor center, and special party boat cruises.
Tickets
Advance sales for the 2027 ship tickets have already started; due to the anniversary, very high demand and limited capacity are expected. Tickets are available through the Bingen tourist office for departures from Bingen, and through the Rüdesheim Tourist AG for departures from Rüdesheim. Several ship categories are offered, ranging from a classic cruise with a two course dinner to an all inclusive package with buffet, drinks and a DJ on board. Exact 2027 prices have not yet been announced; in the previous season, package prices ranged roughly between 90 and 200 euros depending on category and ship. Groups can request reserved seating or multi day packages including accommodation.
Visitor Tips
- Book ship tickets early, as capacity is especially limited for the anniversary edition.
- Only from on board a ship can all seven fireworks displays be experienced.
- Bring warm clothing, as the cruise lasts several hours and evenings can get cool.
- Riverbanks, castles and viewpoints along the route also offer good views of individual fireworks.
- Plan travel and accommodation early, as hotels around the event book up quickly.
