Welcome to Rhine in Flames in St. Goar 2026
On Saturday, 19 September 2026, the riverbank at St. Goar becomes the stage for the last and most traditional "Rhine in Flames" fireworks of the season. Right in front of the famous Loreley rock and the castles Rheinfels and Katz, around 35 illuminated passenger ships gather on the river while a lively land program with live music on three open air stages keeps the mood festive.

Program
The festival starts already on Friday evening, 18 September, with live music at stages along the Rhine and in the old town of St. Goar. On Saturday, "Brass on Fire" takes center stage all day: various wind orchestras from Rhineland Palatinate together with selected entertainment bands play traditional, rock and Latin American music on three open air stages from 11 AM to midnight. Around 7 PM, the ship convoy gathers on the Rhine between St. Goar and St. Goarshausen. The evening's highlight is the grand fireworks "Rhein in Flammen – Das Original" between 9 and 10 PM, launched over the Rhine and from the surrounding castles, made especially striking by the unique echo between the vineyard slopes.
Tickets
The land program with its three stages and market stalls is free to attend. Anyone wanting to experience the fireworks from the water can book a ship ticket, with prices starting at around 87 euros. For a more festive experience, dinner cruises are available, starting at around 129 euros per person for a two course menu. Tickets are available through the St. Goar Tourist Information and Loreley Touristik in St. Goarshausen; early booking is recommended due to high demand.
Visitor Tips
- Book ship tickets months in advance, as they often sell out well before the event weekend.
- For a good view from land, find a spot along the riverside promenade early.
- The fireworks can also be enjoyed excellently from the shore, no ticket required.
- Book accommodation in St. Goar early, as hotels fill up quickly on this weekend.
- Bring warm clothing for the evening by the river.
