Welcome to the New Year's Eve and New Year 2026/2027 in Rijeka
Rijeka marks the 2026/2027 turn of the year across several open-air sites in the city centre and on the Trsat hill. 31 December 2026 and 1 January 2027 typically combine family programmes at noon with a large free celebration on the Korzo pedestrian street. The exact 2026/2027 lineup is usually released only in late autumn by the City of Rijeka and the tourist board; the multi-venue format itself is well established.

Program & Schedule: What to Expect in 2026/2027
Public New Year’s Eve in Rijeka usually starts on the morning of 31 December. Family slots at Trsat Castle and Export Ice Box commonly open around 10:00 or 10:30, with a child-friendly countdown at noon that has recently used balloons and confetti rather than a full fireworks display. Adamić Pier typically hosts a long daytime-to-night programme with live bands, DJs and food stalls.
The main city show on Korzo has in recent years run from about 22:00 until around 02:00. Instead of a large midnight fireworks display on Korzo, organisers have repeatedly used biodegradable confetti and stage effects. Clubs and some restaurants sell separate tickets for their own parties; those lineups and prices are independent of the city programme. For 2026/2027, check visitrijeka.hr and rijeka.hr from November 2026 onward, when artists and confirmed times are normally announced.
Tickets & Admission for New Year's Eve and New Year Rijeka
The city-organised open-air event on Korzo and the public programmes at Advent locations have been free in recent years; no municipal ticket is required. Club nights, theatre concerts (for example at HNK Ivana pl. Zajca) and hotel or restaurant New Year’s dinners are charged separately. Specific club prices for 2026/2027 had not been published at the time of research. Follow visitrijeka.hr, rijeka.hr and individual venue pages for updates.
Visitor Tips: Travel & Accommodation in Rijeka
- Getting there: Rijeka Airport (RJK) is on the island of Krk; Zagreb, Trieste and Pula are common alternatives with a bus or rental-car transfer. By car, use the A6 and A7 motorways. Korzo and the centre are often closed to through traffic on New Year’s Eve, so plan parking or arrive by bus and train.
- Weather and clothing: Late December in Rijeka is often near freezing to about 10 °C, with bora wind and drizzle possible. Wear warm, windproof layers, sturdy shoes and a rain jacket, because much of the programme is outdoors.
- Stay: Hotels and apartments near Korzo, the harbour and Trsat sell out quickly. Book early and confirm how you will get back after midnight if street closures are in force.
- Families: If you want to skip the midnight crowds, use the noon events at Trsat or Export Ice Box and keep the evening calmer at a restaurant or on the castle terrace.
- On the night: Keep valuables secure, set a meeting point and arrive on Korzo before the countdown. The city posts last-minute stage times and road closures just before 31 December.
