Rockharz Open Air 2027: When and Where Does It Take Place?
The Rockharz Open Air runs from 7 to 10 July 2027 at Ballenstedt Airfield, at the foot of the Teufelsmauer rock formation in the northern Harz region (Saxony Anhalt), close to Quedlinburg. Since the early 1990s, the festival has grown from around 100 visitors into one of Germany's biggest metal and rock gatherings, now drawing roughly 20,000 to 25,000 guests over four days.

Lineup and Program 2027
Nearly 30 bands are already confirmed for 2027, including Accept, Arch Enemy, Bruce Dickinson, Alestorm, Doro, Eisbrecher, Grave Digger, Korpiklaani, Metal Church, The Sisters Of Mercy, H Blockx, GWAR and Emil Bulls. The program spans a wide range of styles, from heavy and power metal to death and black metal, plus folk metal, gothic rock and punk. Organizer Veruga GmbH continues to add names to the bill.

Yes: presale for Rockharz 2027 opened in July 2026 and sold out completely within three days, with four day festival passes priced at roughly 179 to 199 euros during presale. Anyone still hoping to attend should watch the official shop and announcements for a possible resale, and avoid buying through unauthorized third party sellers.
Getting There and Camping at Ballenstedt Airfield

- Camping is included in the ticket price; cars can be parked directly next to your tent.
- Early arrival on the Tuesday before the festival is possible for a per vehicle fee.
- Camping without a festival ticket, or with a day ticket only, is not possible.
