Welcome to the Rootz Winterbier Festival 2026 in The Hague
The Rootz Winterbier Festival 2026 takes place on 27 and 28 November in The Hague and marks the 9th edition of this popular winter beer event. At the terrace and inside Cafe-Restaurant Rootz on Grote Marktstraat, visitors can enjoy around 75 different winter beers from approximately 12 breweries, a winter BBQ, fire baskets, Christmas trees and live music in a cosy atmosphere.

Program & Schedule: What to Expect in 2026
Friday 27 November 2026: 16:00 to 23:00. Saturday 28 November 2026: 14:00 to 23:00. The festival takes place both outdoors on the Haagse Biertuin (terrace) and inside Cafe-Restaurant Rootz. Visitors can sample the wide selection of winter beers, enjoy the BBQ, and soak up the winter atmosphere with fire baskets and live music. It is an open festival with no ticket requirement.
Tickets & Admission for Rootz Winterbier Festival The Hague
Entry is free of charge. The official tasting glass costs €6 and can be kept. Tokens to order beers cost €3.50 each and are valid throughout the weekend. If you still have a Rootz tasting glass from previous editions, you are welcome to bring it. Current information is available on the official website of the organiser.
Visitor Tips: Travel & Accommodation in The Hague
- Central location on Grote Marktstraat; easily reachable by tram (Grote Markt stop) and on foot from Den Haag Centraal station (approx. 10–15 minutes).
- Warm clothing is recommended as part of the festival is outdoors; fire baskets provide warmth.
- Book accommodation in the city centre early, especially in the pre-Christmas period.
- Parking available in the Grote Marktstraat underground garage right in front or in the surrounding area.
