From 20 November to 23 December 2026, the walled medieval town of Rothenburg ob der Tauber turns into a living winter wonderland. Dating back over 500 years, the traditional "Reiterlesmarkt" is widely regarded as one of Germany's most charming and picturesque Christmas markets.

The market spans across the historic Marktplatz, Grüner Markt, and Kirchplatz. Opening hours are Sunday through Thursday from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, and Friday and Saturday from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM. The official opening takes place on November 20, accompanied by festive speeches, music, and the magical lighting of the central Christmas tree.
