The Rudolstadt Festival 2027 takes place from 1 to 4 July in the Thuringian town of Rudolstadt and is Germany’s largest festival for folk, roots and world music. With around 300 events on nearly 30 stages, artists from about 40 countries and the country focus on Korea, the festival turns the entire old town, Heinepark and Heidecksburg castle into an international soundscape.

Program & Schedule: What to Expect in 2027

The festival starts on Thursday 1 July 2027 and ends on Sunday 4 July. Concerts are spread across the whole town – from Heinepark with the main stages to the market square, Heidecksburg castle, churches and courtyard stages. In addition to the main programme there are workshops, artist talks, an extensive children’s programme and street music. The Korea country focus brings traditional and contemporary sounds from East Asia. The detailed line-up will be announced in the months leading up to the festival. Organisers expect up to 25,000 visitors per day.

Ticket prices for 2027 have not yet been finally announced. In 2026 the 4-day festival ticket cost €132 (reduced €66 for children/youth aged 7–16 and residents of the Saalfeld-Rudolstadt district). Combo tickets including camping or community accommodation ranged from approximately €148 to €202. Limited day tickets for the inner-city area are sometimes available. • Arrival by train: Rudolstadt station is well connected; from the station you can reach the old town and Heinepark on foot or by shuttle buses.
• Wear comfortable shoes and weatherproof clothing – many stages are outdoors and paths through the town can be steep.
• Book campsites and combo tickets early; alternative accommodation in Rudolstadt, Saalfeld or Bad Blankenburg should also be reserved in good time.
