Program & Schedule: What to Expect in 2026/2027
31 December typically starts with a full ski day. Core lift hours are around 08:00/08:30 to 16:00/16:30, with variations by sector. In the late afternoon the ski schools stage the traditional torchlight descents (in recent years around 17:00 at Turmwiese in Saalbach and around 17:30 at Unterschwarzachbahn in Hinterglemm and at Jausern). After that the focus shifts to huts, hotels and bars until after midnight.
Full artist line-ups for New Year’s Eve 2026/2027 had not been published in detail on saalbach.com as of early September 2026. Established formats from previous years include an all-inclusive dinner at Walleggalm (champagne reception, four-course menu, midnight snack, DJ, summit fireworks and party until about 02:00) and the Schwarzacher party with DJ and live acts, reserved table packages from 21:00 and open door later. Many hotels run their own gala buffets. 1 January remains a ski day, often with extra New Year parties on the mountain. Always reconfirm times and tickets on the official event calendar shortly before travel.
