The exact date for 2027 has not been announced yet. Every year, Salzburg turns into the world capital of classical music and spoken theatre. Founded in 1920, the Salzburg Festival is regarded as the world's most significant festival for opera, theatre and concert, drawing an international audience from culture, politics and business every year. Tickets for the most popular performances are known to sell out months in advance.

Program
The exact date and program for 2027 have not been announced yet. Traditionally, several staged opera productions form the centrepiece of the festival summer, complemented by concerts from leading international orchestras. The drama program is usually led by "Jedermann" on the Cathedral Square. We will update this page as soon as the official 2027 program is released.
Tickets
Ticket sales for the Salzburg Festival traditionally open in spring through the official website and the ticket office at Wiener Philharmoniker Gasse 3. In previous years around 217,000 tickets were on offer, priced between 10 and around 485 euros. Heavily discounted youth tickets are available for anyone under 27 through the Ticket Gretchen app.
Visitor Tips
- Book very early: popular performances such as "Jedermann" often sell out months in advance.
- A summer traffic scheme often applies in Salzburg's old town during peak summer; public transport and park and ride are recommended.
- Secure central accommodation early, as demand runs very high during the festival period.
