On most days the market opens Monday to Wednesday from 4 pm to 11 pm, Thursday until midnight, Friday until 1 am and Saturday already from 1 pm until 1 am, with Sunday running from 1 pm to 11 pm. On Volkstrauertag the market opens later at 3 pm, on Totensonntag at 5 pm, and on the final day, December 23, it closes early at 9 pm. From Thursday to Saturday, live bands and strip shows alternate on the main stage, with shows in the strip tent starting hourly in the evening and strictly limited to visitors aged 18 and over. During the day and early evening, however, the market feels much more family friendly, with a classic Christmas stroll between the stalls.

Admission to the entire market, including the main stage and the adults only area, is free of charge. Payment is only required at the individual stalls, for example for mulled wine, warm food or gift items.
