Welcome to the Scheveningen International Fireworks Festival 2026
In August 2026, the sky above the Dutch coast will once again transform into a brilliant sea of colors. The Scheveningen International Fireworks Festival attracts tens of thousands of visitors each year who enjoy the spectacle directly from the beach or one of the many beach cafes. Over two consecutive weekends (Friday and Saturday), different countries compete to present the most spectacular fireworks show.
Highlights
- Competition between different countries featuring breathtaking pyrotechnics
- Two shows per evening (usually at 9:45 PM and 10:30 PM)
- Prime viewing directly from Scheveningen Beach, the Pier, or the boulevard
- Relaxed atmosphere in the beach pavilions and cafes
- Free admission for all visitors
- Musical entertainment and activities along the promenade
Program
The festival traditionally takes place over four evenings (two weekends) in August. The shows begin as soon as it is dark enough, usually around 9:45 PM with the first country, followed by the second show at 10:30 PM. Each country has about 10 to 15 minutes to impress the jury and the audience with a choreographed display. The winner of the Vuurwerkfestival is announced on the final evening. Before and after the fireworks, the boulevard and the Kurhaus area offer great opportunities for evening strolls.
Tickets
The International Fireworks Festival in Scheveningen is a free event (€0.00) and open to the public. No tickets are required. However, for a special evening, we highly recommend booking a table at one of the beach clubs or restaurants along the boulevard well in advance, as these spots are highly sought after.
Safety & Rules
- Please follow the instructions of security personnel and police on the beach.
- Bringing your own fireworks is strictly prohibited.
- Stay within the designated viewing areas; entering the barriers around the firing zones is not allowed.
- Dogs may be scared by the loud bangs, so it is highly recommended to leave pets at home.
Visitor Tips
- Arrive early: The area fills up quickly. Arriving before 7:00 PM is strongly recommended.
