On Thursday, October 8, 2026, the first Aecht Schlenkerla Rauchbier Urbock of the season is tapped at the historic Brauereiausschank Schlenkerla in Bamberg's old town. The tapping is one of the best known and most popular dates on Bamberg's bock beer calendar and traditionally opens the city's strong beer season.

Program and Schedule: What to Expect in 2026
The official tapping of the first Urbock barrel is scheduled for 16:00 on October 8, 2026. Afterward, the smoked bock is served both inside the Brauereiausschank and at the adjoining Dominikanerhof. The Urbock then remains available seasonally into early January.
