From May to July, Ludwigsburg once again becomes a lively festival city. Founded in 1932, the Ludwigsburg Festival is one of the oldest cultural festivals in the German speaking world, filling the magnificent Residenzschloss and other historic venues around Ludwigsburg with around a hundred events.

The festival traditionally runs from late May or early June into August, with most events concentrated in the summer months. Alongside the Residenzschloss, the Forum am Schlosspark, the palace church, Favorite Palace and Monrepos Palace all serve as venues. The full 2027 program and ticket sale dates will be published on the official website at the start of the year.

Ticket prices vary considerably depending on the event, seating category and venue, ranging from affordable concerts to premium seats for opera and orchestral evenings. Students, trainees and participants in voluntary service programs can get tickets from around 15 euros. Some open air concerts at the market square are even free of charge.
