The traditional Schützen- und Volksfest Fulda is expected to take place from late July to early August 2027 on the central Ochsenwiese. First documented in 1327, it is one of the oldest and most popular folk festivals in the region. On 16,000 m² with around 44 showmen and over 120,000 expected visitors, ten days of celebration await. Program & Schedule: What to Expect in 2027

The festival traditionally begins with operations on the opening Friday and the official barrel tapping. On the following Saturday the proclamation of the royal family takes place in the courtyard of the city palace, followed by the procession to the Ochsenwiese. Further highlights include Ladies’ Night on Monday (rides often reduced), Family Afternoon on Wednesday and Bavarian Night on the second Saturday. Sundays feature morning pints and the prize ceremony. Opening hours follow the proven pattern: opening day from 16:00, Sundays from 12:00, other days from 14:00 until late.
