Program and Schedule: What to Expect in 2026
Send traditionally takes place three times a year, in spring, summer and autumn. Dates for 2027 are already confirmed: Frühjahrssend from April 3 to 11, Sommersend from July 15 to 19, and Herbstsend from October 23 to 31. On most days the fairground opens around 2 p.m., and around 11 a.m. on Sundays. The Friday evening fireworks remain the emotional highlight, starting around 9 p.m. in spring and autumn and slightly later, around 10.30 p.m., during the summer edition.
Tickets and Admission for Send Münster
Entry to the fairground itself is free, and visitors pay directly at individual rides, amusement stalls and vendors. On Thursday's family day, rides are discounted by 30 percent and vendors reduce the price of a featured item by at least 25 percent.
Visitor Tips: Travel and Accommodation in Münster
- Traveling by bus or train is recommended during Send, since parking directly on Schlossplatz is not permitted
- Nearby parking garages such as the Aegidi Parkhaus offer an alternative for those arriving by car
- Münster is easy to explore by bicycle, and the city center is only a few minutes from Schlossplatz
- For the Friday fireworks, arriving early is a good idea since the square gets especially crowded that evening
- Accommodation in Münster should be booked well ahead of any Send dates, as the city sees high visitor numbers during this time
