Welcome to the New Year's Eve Parties in Serre Chevalier 2026-2027
The Serre Chevalier ski area in the French Hautes Alpes stretches from Briançon through Chantemerle and Villeneuve to Le Monêtier les Bains. For the turn of the year 2026-2027, New Year's Eve is spread across several villages: bars with DJs and live music, club nights, thermal bath parties and the traditional mountain fireworks. This page focuses on nightlife, meaning parties, clubs and bars, rather than the large official main events.

- Torchlight descent by ESF ski instructors on the Luc Alphand slope in Chantemerle (Saint Chaffrey), starting at 6 pm, free of charge, followed by fireworks

Program and Schedule: Where to Celebrate New Year's Eve in Serre Chevalier
The evening traditionally starts early with the torchlight descents. In Monêtier the program opens with the lantern handout in front of the church and a procession to the foot of the slope; in Chantemerle, ESF instructors ski down the Luc Alphand slope with torches. According to the official tourist office, both events are free and end with fireworks.
After that, the action moves to the bars and venues. In Saint Chaffrey and Chantemerle, options include The Sister's Pub (live music, DJ sets, karaoke), Le Caveau de Chantemerle, Le Trappeur and Le Playoff. In Briançon, well known addresses are Le Barboteur, La Chaumière Foodmarket & Pub, the Casino Circus bar and the Bowling Bar Games Room. La Salle les Alpes has Black Rock Bar, La Grotte and Le 1420, and Le Monêtier les Bains offers Alpen Bar, SNØ Bar, Blue Bird Cocktail Bar and the Bar du Stabatio.
Important note: at the time of research, the clubs, bars and organizers named above had not yet published their specific New Year's Eve programs for 2026-2027 (line up, entry price, times). In earlier editions the big Réveillon party took place at La Halte de Pré Chabert in Le Monêtier les Bains, with room for around 750 guests and a shuttle service until the early morning, and the Grands Bains held an evening from 9:30 pm to 1 am with a DJ and live saxophone. Whether these formats return in 2026-2027 is still open, so please check the current program directly with the organizers.

Visitor Tips: Travel and Accommodation in Serre Chevalier
- The villages lie along the valley between Briançon and Le Monêtier les Bains, with ski buses and shuttle connections between them. Plan your ride home for New Year's Eve in advance, as night connections are limited.
- In midwinter, nights can fall well below freezing; for the torchlight descent and fireworks, bring warm clothing, gloves, a hat and shoes with good grip.
- Accommodation around the turn of the year books out early; reserve your lodging as well as restaurant tables and the thermal baths as soon as possible.
- For New Year's Day, the tourist office suggests skiing in the morning, when the slopes are usually quiet; lift passes can be reserved online in advance.
- A tip for party goers: choose your village by music style. Chantemerle suits pub and DJ nights, Briançon suits concerts and craft beer, and Monêtier suits thermal baths and house parties.
