Welcome to New Year’s Eve at Brandenburg Gate 2026/2027 in Berlin
Under the motto “Yeah 27!”, Berlin will again celebrate the turn of the year 2026/2027 at the Brandenburg Gate. The city-owned Kulturprojekte Berlin organises the free open-air party on Platz des 18. März and parts of Straße des 17. Juni. Planned elements include DJ sets, drinks and snack stands and – as in the previous edition – a major midnight fireworks display. Detailed programme and exact running times for 2026/2027 have not been published yet; the concept follows the 2025/2026 edition.
Highlights & Attractions at New Year’s Eve at Brandenburg Gate in Berlin
- Berlin’s central public New Year’s Eve celebration right at the Brandenburg Gate, organised by Kulturprojekte Berlin.
- Motto “Yeah 27!”: Platz des 18. März and sections of Straße des 17. Juni turn into an open-air dancefloor.
- DJ sets rather than a large stage show – the previous edition featured pop, 80s/90s hits, Afrobeats and electronic party tracks.
- Planned high fireworks at midnight (about seven to seven and a half minutes in the previous year) as the night’s climax.
- On-site food and drink stalls; admission is free, but entry is ticket-only.
- Limited capacity (roughly 20,000 to 25,000 in the previous year) and personalised free tickets due to open in December.
- Strict security checks, a ban on private fireworks on site, and entry only via designated gates.

Program & Schedule: What to Expect in 2026/2027
The Berlin Senate has confirmed another free party with DJs and fireworks at the Brandenburg Gate for New Year’s Eve 2026/2027. Kulturprojekte Berlin is again in charge. Official wording so far: further information will follow, and no concrete programme details can yet be given.
For orientation, the previous edition (31 December 2025 / 1 January 2026) ran roughly as follows: gates from about 21:30, music from 22:00, countdown and fireworks at midnight, party end around 01:00. Whether the same times apply in 2026/2027 is not confirmed. Live bands were not part of the new concept – the focus was on DJ sets. Updated lineup and timetable information is expected on kulturprojekte.berlin closer to December.
Tickets & Admission for New Year’s Eve at Brandenburg Gate Berlin
Admission is free. A personalised ticket is still mandatory; without a valid ticket and photo ID there is no entry. According to the official announcement, free tickets are due to become available from December. In the previous year the rules were: maximum two tickets per booking, name on the ticket must match the ID at the gate, no resale. Capacity and exact ticket quotas for 2026/2027 have not been published. Book only via the official Kulturprojekte Berlin website – not through third-party sellers.
Visitor Tips: Travel & Accommodation in Berlin
- Getting there: S+U Brandenburger Tor (S1, S2, S25, S26, U5) and nearby bus lines. On New Year’s Eve stations and streets are closed or diverted early – in the previous year the U-Bahn at Brandenburg Gate stopped serving the station from the afternoon. Allow extra walking time and check alternative stops.
- Weather and clothing: New Year’s night in Berlin is cold, often below freezing, with wind and possible snow or rain. Warm layers, sturdy shoes, hat and gloves are essential. There is no roof cover on the site.
- Accommodation: Hotels and apartments in Mitte, Tiergarten and near the main station are in high demand for New Year’s Eve. Book early and check the walking distance to the official entrances.
- Entry and rules: In the previous year entrances were at Ebertstraße South (near Behrenstraße), Ebertstraße North (near Dorotheenstraße) and Yitzhak-Rabin-Straße/Scheidemannstraße. Bag checks, bans on glass, private fireworks and large brought-in drinks applied. Arrive before 23:00 to avoid queues and secure a good view of the fireworks.
- Safety: Enter only with a personalised ticket and ID. Check current closures, security rules and prohibited items shortly before the event on kulturprojekte.berlin and official Berlin police channels.
