Visitor Tips: Travel & Accommodation in Heidelberg

• Arrive by train at Heidelberg Hauptbahnhof, then continue by bus or tram into the Old Town (stops Bismarckplatz, Rathaus/Bergbahn, Stadthalle). Parking garages P6 and P8 are close to the concert hall; the Old Town is very busy on New Year's Eve.
• Late December in Heidelberg is cold and often wet and windy by the river. Wear layers, sturdy shoes and weatherproof clothing; bring extra gloves for the ice rink.
• Hotels in the Old Town, along the Neckar and below the castle book out early for the turn of the year. If you combine concerts or galas with your stay, reserve rooms and tickets together.
