On the night of December 31, 2026 into January 1, 2027, the Montafon valley in Vorarlberg rings in the new year with parties, club nights and live music. Program & Schedule: What to Expect in Schruns, Gaschurn and St. Gallenkirch
The celebrations take place on Thursday, December 31, 2026, and continue into the early hours of January 1, 2027. The day starts on the slopes and in the après ski bars at the Versettla cable car in Gaschurn. In the evening, hotels and dance bars open their doors: in St. Gallenkirch, the party at Tanzbar Café Höhle most recently began at 9:30 pm, with an optional dinner from 6 pm. Hotel Alpenfeuer Montafon most recently invited guests to its terrace celebration from 9 pm. In Schruns, the Löwengrube is the best known club and most recently announced a New Year's Eve party with DJane Marleen. In Gaschurn, locals and guests traditionally gather on the Kirchplatz, most recently with DJ Nixowacht.
Lineups, start times and admission prices for the 2026/2027 night had not been published by the organizers at the time of research. It is therefore not certain that the DJs and bands mentioned will perform again. Please check the current program in the Montafon event calendar or contact the venue directly.
Tickets & Admission for New Year's Eve in Montafon
No prices have been confirmed for 2026/2027 yet. The most recent published editions give an idea: the New Year's Eve party at Tanzbar Café Höhle cost 72 euros with dinner (aperitif, fondue and salad buffet) and 18 euros without dinner; the dinner had to be booked in advance (phone +43 664 3934 709). The party on the Kirchplatz in Gaschurn was free of charge in its latest published edition. No prices were published for the Löwengrube or Hotel Alpenfeuer. Hotel packages for New Year's Eve with dinner and music are booked separately through the accommodations and cost considerably more than a party ticket alone.
Visitor Tips: Travel & Accommodation in Schruns, Gaschurn and St. Gallenkirch
- Plan your way home on New Year's Eve in advance: the valley is served by the Montafonerbahn and local Montafon buses, so check the night schedules for January 1 beforehand and book a taxi early
- Late December is properly wintry in Montafon; for outdoor parties such as the Kirchplatz in Gaschurn, warm shoes, a hat and gloves are essential
- Accommodation around New Year's Eve books out quickly and is expensive; many hotels in Schruns offer packages with dinner, music and an overnight stay, so book early
- If you want dinner before the party, for example at Tanzbar Café Höhle, reserve in time, as the dinner had to be pre-booked
- The après ski bars in Gaschurn follow winter season hours (Bull Schirmbar daily from 9 am to 7 pm from December 3, 2026; Gamsjöchli daily from 12 pm to 8 pm from December 18, 2026); a New Year's Eve party has not been announced there
