Welcome to the New Year's Eve & New Year 2026/2027 in Lech
Lech am Arlberg in Vorarlberg is one of the Alps' most exclusive winter resorts. New Year's Eve 2026 falls on Thursday, 31 December; 1 January 2027 is a public holiday. The destination is known for luxury hotels, gourmet gala dinners, reliable skiing across Ski Arlberg and the traditional sound fireworks in neighbouring Zürs rather than a single mass street party. The planned ski season 2026/2027 runs from 2 December 2026 to 18 April 2027.
Highlights & Attractions at New Year's Eve & New Year in Lech

Program & Schedule: What to Expect in 2026/2027
31 December 2026 is centred on hotel celebrations: many properties host formal dinners, dancing and a midnight buffet, often with a dress code. Public squares stay elegant and relatively quiet because private fireworks are banned in the village. On New Year's Day, 1 January 2027, the official Lech Zürs events preview lists the sound fireworks in Zürs. In recent years a DJ warm-up started around 21:00 and the display itself at 22:00 in the Flexenarena next to the Trittkopf lift; the 2027 soundtrack had not been published in detail as of September 2026. After-parties typically continue in Zürs venues. A New Year concert at Lechwelten is scheduled for 4 January 2027. Daytime, the slopes remain the main draw: groomed runs, the White Ring circuit and mountain restaurants. Confirm artists, shuttle times and concert tickets on lechzuers.com once the final programme is released.
Tickets & Admission for New Year's Eve & New Year Lech
There is no single festival ticket. The Zürs sound fireworks have been free to watch in previous years; that is likely again for 2027 but should be checked when the final notice is published. The real cost is accommodation, gala dinners and ski passes. Hotel New Year's menus in past seasons often ranged around EUR 210 to 250 per person (for example at properties such as Goldener Berg or Edelweiss); rates for 2026/2027 may be higher depending on the house. Ski Arlberg lift tickets are extra. Concert tickets for Lechwelten are usually sold via the tourism board ticket shop. Christmas and New Year weeks are peak season, with lodge and suite rates well above mid-season prices. Check current packages and availability directly with hotels and at lechzuers.com.
Visitor Tips: Travel & Accommodation in Lech
- Fly into Innsbruck, Zurich or Friedrichshafen, then continue by train to Langen am Arlberg and local bus or taxi to Lech; the Flexen Pass can be wintry, and extra buses often run for the Zürs fireworks.
- Expect alpine January weather with snow and wind: sturdy winter boots, layered clothing, smart outfits for hotel galas and full ski gear if you plan to ski on 1 January.
- Book Lech, Oberlech and Zürs hotels early for New Year 2026/2027; many luxury houses require a minimum stay over the turn of the year.
- Category F2 fireworks are banned throughout the Lech municipal area; only low-impact category F1 items are allowed. The official display is in Zürs.
- Most shops stay closed on 1 January 2027. Plan hotel brunch, skiing and spa time; use the Ortsbus and the James night bus for the return from Zürs.
