Welcome to the 2026 Silvesterlauf in Trier
On December 31, 2026, the main square of Germany's oldest city once again becomes the stage for the Bitburger 0.0% Silvesterlauf. Since 1990, international elite athletes and thousands of recreational runners have raced along a 1 kilometer loop through the historic old town, cheered on by samba drums and confetti.

Program and Schedule: What to Expect on December 31
The event kicks off around 1 PM with samba music and a welcome from the city of Trier, followed by the children's and youth races in the early afternoon. From around 3 PM, the internationally stacked elite races for women and men take center stage, before the public races for recreational runners round out the late afternoon. The day traditionally flows straight into Trier's own New Year's Eve celebrations at the main square.
Registration Fees for the Silvesterlauf 2026
The entry fee is around 20 euros for adults, around 12 euros for youth aged 12 to 19, and around 6 euros for children up to 11, each including a small giveaway item. Registration is only possible online through the official partner platform, and late entries are accepted at the race office right up until race day, subject to availability.
