Welcome to New Year's Eve Parties in Munich 2026/2027
On 31 December 2026 and into 1 January 2027, Munich rings in the New Year with open-air parties, galas, club nights and dinner events. Options range from the big Tollwood New Year’s Eve party on the Theresienwiese to rooftop dinners, electronic underground nights and large-scale club productions. The central Silvestermeile on Ludwigstraße will not take place in 2026/2027; the focus is on individual venues and ticketed events. Many programmes and prices are already published — early booking is strongly advised.

Program & Schedule: What to Expect in 2026/2027
Most major parties on 31 December 2026 start between 19:00 and 21:00 and run until 02:00, 04:00 or 05:00, or open end. Tollwood and Löwenbräukeller open earlier with live or dinner programmes; club nights such as ROODY and Black Opera/Katzenclub focus on continuous DJ sets. The Silvester-Schlagerboom with Florian Silbereisen is broadcast live from BMW Park (FC Bayern basketball arena) from 20:15; audience tickets are sold in advance.
Important note: the Silvestermeile on Ludwigstraße is cancelled for 2026/2027 (the organiser withdrew its applications). Many classic clubs (including P1, Pacha, Neuraum and Milchbar) traditionally announce their New Year’s Eve programmes later in autumn — check club sites and event platforms close to the date for final line-ups and prices. At Tollwood, fireworks and sparklers are banned; the midnight waltz replaces a classic fireworks display on site.

Visitor Tips: Travel & Accommodation in Munich
- Getting there: Prefer public transport (U4/U5 Theresienwiese for Tollwood; S-Bahn and tram for Giesing, Museumsinsel and Aubing). Many event tickets (including Tollwood) act as an MVV day pass. Taxis and rideshares are in high demand after midnight — allow extra time.
- Weather and clothing: Late December is cold; outdoor time on the Theresienwiese needs warm layers, sturdy shoes and a weatherproof jacket. Clubs and galas often enforce dress codes (elegant/chic for upscale club nights, evening wear for Frau im Mond and Löwenbräukeller).
- Accommodation: Hotels and apartments in the centre, Maxvorstadt, Giesing and Aubing book out quickly for New Year’s Eve. Reserve early; outer districts with good MVV links are useful alternatives.
- Safety: Use only designated areas for official fireworks; many venues ban personal pyrotechnics. Carry some cash and cards for bars; keep bags small.
- Stay up to date: Club line-ups and remaining tickets can change until shortly before the night. Official sources: munich.travel, tollwood.de, frauimmond.bar, bergson.com, club websites and München Ticket.
