The ship positions upstream of the Oberkassel Bridge, opposite the Old Town – an excellent vantage point for Düsseldorf’s New Year fireworks and skyline.

At midnight there is a snack and sparkling wine. Return is scheduled for about 01:00; the event ends at 02:00. The start and length of the fireworks can affect the timetable and return time – minor delays are possible. Once you leave the ship there is no re-entry. Seating is assigned by KD according to group size; larger parties may be split across several tables.

• Getting there: KD pier at Theodor-Heuss-Brücke / Robert-Lehr-Ufer (right bank, near Golzheim/Pempelfort). Use public transport toward Theodor-Heuss-Brücke or Rheinterrasse; by car via Cecilienallee/Robert-Lehr-Ufer – parking is available nearby. Other piers (e.g. Burgplatz) apply only to different New Year ships.
• What to wear: Smart-festive according to the KD dress code; the open deck can be cold and windy – bring a coat or jacket.
• Where to stay: Düsseldorf sells out for New Year’s Eve. Book early in the Old Town, on the riverfront, in Pempelfort or Golzheim, and allow enough time to reach the pier.
