Welcome to Sommerkino im Aufseesianum 2026 in Bamberg
From August 30 to September 12, 2026, the Sommerkino im Aufseesianum once again turns the historic courtyard of the boarding school on Aufseßstraße in Bamberg into an open air cinema. Set between the New Residence and the Michaelsberg, the courtyard becomes a romantic screening venue overlooking the city on warm summer evenings.

Program and Schedule: What to Expect at the Aufseesianum
From August 30 to September 5, doors open at 7:15 PM, with the warm up program starting around 7:40 PM. From September 6 to September 12, as daylight grows shorter, doors move to 6:50 PM, with the warm up beginning around 7:15 PM. The film itself always starts once dusk sets in. The exact film for each evening is shown at the time of online booking.
Tickets and Admission for the Sommerkino 2026
Advance tickets cost 11 euros for adults, 10 euros at the reduced rate for students, schoolchildren and friends of the cinema, and 8.50 euros for children up to and including age 12. Prices at the box office on the evening are slightly higher, at 12 euros, 11 euros and 9.50 euros respectively. Advance booking runs through the Lichtspiel cinema website, and no booking fee applies when purchased directly at the Lichtspiel or Odeon cinemas.
