Sónar 2026 – Barcelona's Pulse of Electronic Music
From 18 to 20 June 2026, Sónar Festival returns to Barcelona for its 33rd edition. In a historic first, the entire musical programme, both afternoon and night, takes place under one roof at Fira Gran Via in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat. The longstanding separation between Sónar by Day and Sónar by Night has been abolished; six stages run continuously from 5:00 PM until 7:00 AM. Sónar+D, the festival's innovation and creativity conference, relocates to the Llotja de Mar in the city centre.

Programme and Stages
Sónar 2026 operates six stages across all three festival days. Thursday features four active stages; Friday and Saturday run all six in parallel. The stage lineup includes SonarClub, SonarHall (a hybrid concert and club format), SonarCar with its central DJ booth surrounded by the crowd, SonarPark (outdoor emerging sounds), SonarLab (an underground club concept in partnership with UK broadcaster Rinse) and SonarPub. The standout technological moment is Reinier Zonneveld's AI project R2, where an artificial intelligence trained on his own music performs live alongside holographic visuals. A separate family programme, Sónar Kids, runs on Saturday 20 June at Parc del Fòrum.
Sónar+D – Innovation and Creativity
Sónar+D is the festival's parallel conference and exhibition strand. In 2026 it moves to the historic Llotja de Mar in central Barcelona, running on Thursday 18 and Friday 19 June during daytime hours. Talks, installations, performances and networking sessions explore the intersections between art, technology, artificial intelligence and contemporary creativity. A dedicated Sónar+D ticket (from €15 per day) is available separately and does not include access to the main festival at Fira Gran Via.

Visitor Tips
- Book accommodation early: Barcelona hotels during festival week fill up months in advance. Neighbourhoods near Plaça Espanya and Eixample offer the best access to the venue.
- OFFSónar events: A parallel programme of club nights runs throughout festival week at Poble Espanyol, featuring Keinemusik, Mau P and Maceo Plex among others. Tickets are sold separately and sell out quickly.
- Sónar Week: In the days before the festival (15 to 17 June), Sala Apolo, Club Moog and the Sónar District at Parc del Fòrum host additional events, many at reduced prices or free of charge.
- Re-entry is permitted once per session before 11:00 PM.
- Late-night taxis from Fira Gran Via can be expensive; the L9 metro and the official SonarBus are the most reliable alternatives.
