Welcome to the Speyer Christmas and New Year Market 2026/2027 in Speyer
The Speyer Christmas and New Year Market 2026/2027 is one of the longest Christmas markets in Rhineland-Palatinate and runs from 23 November 2026 to 10 January 2027. Along Maximilianstraße and around the impressive Imperial Cathedral, visitors enjoy a festive atmosphere with numerous stalls, sparkling lights and regional specialities.

Program & Schedule: What to Expect in 2026/2027
The main market runs from 23 November 2026 to 10 January 2027 along Maximilianstraße between the Cathedral and the Altpörtel. Regular opening hours: Monday to Thursday and Sunday 11:00–21:00, Friday and Saturday 11:00–22:00 (sales stalls until 20:00). Special hours: 24 December 10:00–13:00, closed on 25 and 26 December, 31 December 11:00–15:00, 1 January from 13:00. On Advent weekends the craft market and Partner Cities Market further enrich the programme.
Tickets & Admission for Speyer Christmas Market Speyer
Admission to all parts of the Speyer Christmas and New Year Market is free of charge. There are no tickets. Food, drinks and purchases at the stalls are paid separately. Current information is available on the official website of the City of Speyer.
Visitor Tips: Travel & Accommodation in Speyer
- Arrival by train: From Speyer station you can reach Maximilianstraße and the Cathedral on foot within a few minutes.
- Warm, weatherproof clothing and comfortable shoes are recommended as the market takes place outdoors.
- Book accommodation in the old town or near the station early – especially on Advent weekends and around New Year.
- Use multi-storey car parks in the city centre; Maximilianstraße is a pedestrian zone.

Speyer Christmas and New Year Market 2026/2027 at the Imperial Cathedral
The main market with numerous sales and food stalls stretches along Maximilianstraße in front of the Imperial Cathedral and up to the Altpörtel. It offers handicrafts, gift ideas, regional specialities and festive lighting. A special highlight is the 3D video mapping on the Altpörtel.
Craft Market in the Town Hall Ensemble 2026
On the four Advent weekends (27–29 November, 4–6 December, 11–13 December and 18–20 December 2026) a high-quality craft market takes place in the courtyards of the historic town hall ensemble. Opening hours: Friday 16:00–20:00, Saturday and Sunday 11:00–20:00. Artisans present authentic products and give insights into their work.
Partner Cities Christmas Market 2026/2027
On Advent weekends and in early January 2027 the Partner Cities Christmas Market enriches the programme with international culinary specialities and handicrafts from Speyer’s twin cities. It complements the main market and the craft market and adds extra variety.
