Event Details

When does the Splash! Festival 2027 take place?

The Splash! Festival returns for its 29th edition from 8 to 10 July 2027 in Ferropolis near Gräfenhainichen, SaxonyAnhalt. This keeps the event on its traditional first weekend of July slot, which it has held since moving to Ferropolis in 2009. Splash! is widely regarded as Germany's ultimate hip hop and rap festival and one of the most prestigious open air events in the European hip hop and rap scene.

Where is Ferropolis and how do you get there?

Ferropolis, the "City of Iron," sits on a peninsula in Lake Gremmin between Leipzig and Dessau, about 20 kilometers from Dessau. Built on the site of the former Golpa Nord open cast mine, the venue features five giant excavators that form a unique industrial backdrop for the festival. The easiest way to arrive is by car via the A9 motorway (exit Gräfenhainichen) or by train to Gräfenhainichen with a shuttle bus to the site; organisers also offer special trains and camper parking.

How much does a Splash! Festival 2027 ticket cost?

Phase one tickets for 2027 are already sold out; fans can join the waitlist and will be notified by email once new batches are released. As a reference point, festival tickets in previous years sold for around 199 euros in advance. The final 2027 price tiers will be announced through the official ticket shop.

Who is performing at the Splash! Festival?

The 2027 lineup has not been confirmed yet. In past editions, major names from the hip hop and rap scene took the stage, including Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, A$AP Rocky, Cypress Hill, Gunna, Ken Carson, RIN, Haftbefehl and Kool Savas. Alongside hip hop, the festival also features electro and reggae across multiple stages, drawing around 20,000 visitors per day.

Why is Ferropolis Europe's most iconic hip hop stage?

No other festival venue blends industrial history with live music quite like Ferropolis: the towering, decommissioned excavators create a backdrop found nowhere else in Europe. Founded in Chemnitz in 1998 and firmly based in Ferropolis since 2009, the festival has grown into one of Europe's biggest and most important hip hop and reggae festivals.
