Welcome to the Spreewald and Marksmen Festival in Lübbenau 2027
The Spreewald and Marksmen Festival in Lübbenau is the largest folk festival in the region, drawing numerous visitors to the city of canals and pickles on the first weekend of July 2027. It is a colorful celebration of Wendish-Sorbian traditions combined with a classic marksmen's fair and a bustling funfair. The absolute highlight is the magnificent Kahnkorso (boat parade) on the picturesque waterways of the Spreewald, which attracts thousands of spectators every year.

Program
The festival weekend from July 2 to 4, 2027 begins on Friday afternoon with the opening of the funfair and the traditional tapping of the keg in the festival tent. Saturday is dedicated to the marksmen's clubs: After the grand marksmen's parade through the old town, the Marksmen King is proclaimed, followed by evening live music and the fireworks. The main event takes place on Sunday afternoon: the traditional Kahnkorso. Dozens of lovingly decorated Spreewald punts glide through the waterways, presenting historical crafts, mythical creatures, and traditional life in the Spreewald.
Tickets
Access to the festival grounds, the funfair, and the old town is a free experience (€0.00). The boat parade can also be watched from the riverbanks free of charge. Costs only apply for the amusement rides, food and drinks, and occasionally for special grandstand seating at the Great Harbor during the boat parade.
Safety & Rules
- The festival grounds and the riverside paths at the Great Harbor can get very crowded, especially during the boat parade on Sunday.
- Keep an eye on your valuables in large crowds.
- Please follow the instructions of security personnel and the water rescue service (DLRG) around the harbor basin.
- Emergency routes and boat docks must strictly be kept clear.
Visitor Tips
- Easy Travel: Use the regional express trains (RE2 or RE7) from Berlin or Cottbus. Lübbenau train station is just a short walk from the old town and the harbor.
- If arriving by car, use the designated special parking areas on the outskirts, as the town center will be largely closed to traffic.
- On Sunday, secure a spot by the water early to get the best view of the passing boats.
- Be sure to try the local specialties: Fresh Spreewald gherkins (pickles) straight from the barrel and yeast pancakes (Plinsen).
- Combine the festival with your own relaxing punt tour in the morning before the hustle and bustle at the harbor begins.
