What is the Sputnik Spring Break Festival?
The Sputnik Spring Break is one of central Germany's biggest season opening festivals, held every year at Pentecost on the Pouch peninsula at Lake Goitzsche near Bitterfeld (Saxony Anhalt) since 2008. Presented by radio station MDR Sputnik, the genre spanning festival mixes EDM, pop, hip hop, rock and electro, and marks the unofficial start of Germany's outdoor festival season for many young festivalgoers. The lakeside site hosts around 25,000 visitors with car side camping, beach vibes and several stages.

Sputnik Spring Break 2027 runs over the Pentecost weekend from 14 to 17 May 2027 on the Pouch peninsula, right on Lake Goitzsche, close to Bitterfeld and Leipzig. A WarmUp Party takes place on the Wednesday before the official start, followed by a PreOpening Party on Thursday, so many guests arrive a few days ahead of the main festival.

Who is performing at Sputnik Spring Break 2027?
The first confirmed act for 2027 is the band Finch; the rest of the lineup will be announced gradually. Past editions have featured artists such as Sido, Ski Aggu, Zartmann, Deichkind, David Guetta, Cro, Kraftklub and Die Fantastischen Vier. How much do tickets cost for Sputnik Spring Break 2027?
The Early Bird combo ticket offers 20 percent off the regular festival ticket and includes three festival days plus six days of camping right next to your car. The price is made up of 143.20 euros for the festival ticket, 45 euros for camping and a 5 euro environmental deposit, plus a booking fee. Orders are limited to eleven tickets per person, and entry is only permitted from age 16 and subject to certain conditions.
How to get to the Pouch peninsula at Lake Goitzsche?
Pouch is located in Saxony Anhalt between Bitterfeld and Leipzig and can be reached by car, bus or train. The organizer points out that a large share of a festival's CO2 emissions come from travel to and from the site, and recommends train, bus or carpooling as climate friendly alternatives to driving alone.
