Stockholm Design Week 2027 – Design for Everyone

Stockholm Design Week returns from 8 to 14 February 2027 under its renewed vision: Design in all forms, for everyone. After a pause in 2026, Scandinavia's most important design event comes back reimagined and wider in scope than ever before. Open showrooms, exhibitions, product launches, talks and evening events spread across the entire Swedish capital, welcoming design professionals and enthusiasts alike. At the centre of the week stands the Stockholm Furniture Fair, taking place from 9 to 12 February 2027 at Stockholmsmässan.

Highlights 2027

  • City-wide program from 8 to 14 February 2027 across galleries, museums, showrooms and restaurants
  • Stockholm Furniture Fair from 9 to 12 February 2027 at Stockholmsmässan (trade fair)
  • Greenhouse: international platform for emerging and up-and-coming designers worldwide
  • New: Design clusters and district routes for easier navigation across the city program
  • Stockholm Furniture Fair Talks: high-level discussions on the future of the design industry
  • Material Dialogues: industry talks on sustainable materials and circular economy
  • Älvsjö Gård: exhibition dedicated to limited-edition and small-scale production designers
  • Official Stockholm Design Week App as the primary navigation tool throughout the week

Program

Stockholm Design Week 2027 is a city-wide experience. Open showrooms, museum exhibitions, product presentations, creative pop-up events and evening parties are organised across clearly defined design clusters in different neighbourhoods. This structure allows visitors to explore the program based on their interests and location.

The centrepiece is the Stockholm Furniture Fair at Stockholmsmässan in Älvsjö. For 2027, the trade fair has been condensed to four days with a sharper focus on business, innovation and sustainability. Flexible stand presentations replace large constructions; collaborations and shared spaces play a greater role. The fair targets buyers, architects, interior designers and industry representatives from around the world.

Running alongside the fair, the Greenhouse platform showcases international emerging talent and up-and-coming design studios. Since its founding in 2003, Greenhouse has served as the launchpad for many of today's leading designers.

Vision 2027: Design in all forms, for everyone

Following the cancellation of the 2026 edition, Stockholm Design Week returns with a strengthened purpose. Under the direction "Design in all forms, for everyone", the week extends well beyond the design industry. Museums, restaurants, shops and cultural institutions are integrated as official participants for the first time. The goal is to make design more visible, more accessible and more inclusive, and to further cement Stockholm's position as one of Europe's most exciting design cities.

Tickets & Admission

The city-wide Stockholm Design Week program is largely free and open to the public. Open showrooms, exhibitions and many events require no registration or ticket. The Stockholm Furniture Fair (9 to 12 February 2027) requires a separate trade accreditation or ticket; details and pricing are available directly via the Stockholm Furniture Fair website. Some evening events and parties may also require tickets.

Visitor Tips

  • Download the official Stockholm Design Week App: it is the primary tool for navigating the full city program.
  • Book accommodation well in advance; the city fills up significantly during festival week.
  • Stockholmsmässan is located in Älvsjö and easily reached by Pendeltåg commuter train.
  • Plan time for the design clusters across different neighbourhoods; much of the program takes place away from the fair.
  • February temperatures in Stockholm can be around freezing; pack warm clothing.
