Visitor Tips: Travel & Accommodation in Strasbourg

  • Getting around: PMC (Wacken) on tram lines B or E (stops Wacken, Lycée Kléber, Parlement européen). Espace K and many bars are near La Laiterie (tram B, bus). Centre and Petite France are walkable or a short tram ride. Check CTS for any New Year service changes.
  • Weather and clothing: Late December in Strasbourg is often cold, wet and windy. Warm layers and sturdy shoes; for clubs, something comfortable you can add or remove.
  • Where to stay: New Year and the tail of the Christmas market season are peak demand – book early. Centre, Krutenau and the Wacken/PMC area work well for both concert and nightlife.
  • Tickets and timing: Secure cabaret and philharmonic seats in advance; club tickets often go online only in late December. No city fireworks confirmed – recheck Ville de Strasbourg and venue pages before the night.
  • After midnight: Many clubs and bars run into the early morning; plan CTS, taxi or ride-hailing for the way back. Museums open with reduced hours on 31 December and are closed on 1 January; regular hours resume from 2 January.
