Welcome to Summer Breeze Open Air 2026
From 12 to 15 August 2026, the airfield of the Aeroclub Dinkelsbühl once again becomes Europe's largest independent metal festival. The Summer Breeze Open Air brings together around 40,000 fans and more than 90 bands spanning death, black, heavy and thrash metal, metalcore and deathcore, combined with the historic charm of the medieval town of Dinkelsbühl right outside the festival grounds.
Highlights
- Headliners: Helloween, In Flames and Lamb Of God
- More big names: Airbourne, Arch Enemy, Eisbrecher, Saxon, The Ghost Inside, Parasite Inc.
- Multiple stages with over 90 bands
- Camping directly on the festival grounds
- Family friendly atmosphere despite the festival's size
- Awarded Best Festival at the Helga! Festival Award 2024
Program
The festival runs over four days, from Wednesday to Saturday; the main entrance opens and the first concerts start in the early afternoon each day, with headline sets in the evening. Besides the main stages, the grounds also feature areas dedicated to newcomer and underground acts. Summer Breeze was founded in 1997 and has taken place in Dinkelsbühl since 2006, becoming a pilgrimage site for metal fans across Europe.
Tickets
The regular festival ticket costs 249.99 euros; early bird tickets were previously available from 199.99 euros. Shortly before the event, a limited number of day tickets are released from 89.99 euros, provided the festival is not already sold out (which has regularly been the case in recent years). Tickets are sold through the official online shop and authorized partners such as Ticketmaster; the price includes camping and the advance booking fee.
Visitor Tips
- Book tickets early, as the festival regularly sells out.
- Traveling by train via Ellwangen or Ansbach is recommended; special shuttle buses take visitors directly to the main entrance.
- Camping is included in the ticket price; bring your own gear.
- Pack weatherproof clothing, as the venue is an open airfield.
- Allow time for a visit to Dinkelsbühl's historic old town.
