What is Tallinn Music Week?
Tallinn Music Week (TMW) has been one of Eastern Europe's most acclaimed showcase festivals since 2009 and is a key meeting point for the European music and creative industry. Under the tagline "Festival for tomorrow's music, arts and ideas", the Estonian capital turns into one big stage for several days, with concerts, an industry conference and a free city festival featuring art, food and discussions running side by side.
When does Tallinn Music Week 2027 take place?
The 19th edition runs from 8 to 11 April 2027, officially confirmed through the organiser's Instagram account and website. The three programme strands overlap slightly: the music festival runs from 8 to 10 April, the industry conference from 9 to 10 April, and the free city festival accompanies the whole period from 8 to 11 April. Exact times for individual showcases are usually published closer to the event.

Where does the festival take place?
Rather than a single festival site, Tallinn Music Week spreads across numerous clubs, concert halls and cultural venues throughout the city. The main hubs are traditionally Telliskivi Creative City and the Noblessner harbour district, along with the neighbouring areas of Kalamaja and Kopli. Distances between venues are usually short, so visitors can easily catch several concerts in one evening.
What can visitors expect from the program?
- A multi genre lineup of roughly 150 to 200 artists from across Europe and beyond
- Music ranging from folk and world music to jazz and contemporary classical, plus electronica, pop and metal
- An international industry conference with panels, networking and talks on the future of the music business
- A free city festival with art exhibitions, food, film screenings and a kids' programme
- Themed nights spotlighting partner cities, including recent European Capitals of Culture Oulu and Liepāja
How much do tickets cost?
The standard way to attend is the TMW Festival Pass, which grants access to all music festival events except special events. Prices rise in tiers depending on when you buy: from around 55 euros for early purchases up to 99 euros during the festival week itself. Anyone wanting to join the conference programme needs a PRO Pass, regularly priced at 250 euros (currently on sale); attendees up to age 26 and students get a 40 percent discount through the YoungPRO Pass. A Superpass with extended access costs 350 euros. Single tickets for specific venues are also available through the official ticket partner.

- Events running past 11 PM usually have an 18 plus age restriction.
- The free city festival is a good option for families and visitors without a music festival pass.
- Detailed program and exact times are usually published only a few weeks before the event, so check the official website regularly.
