Welcome to the Tyrolean Festival Erl 2027
From 1 to 25 July 2027, the modern Festspielhaus in the Tyrolean lowlands once again becomes a stage for world class opera and orchestral concerts. Under artistic director Jonas Kaufmann, this season of the Tyrolean Festival Erl is guided by the theme "Sehnsucht" (longing). Set against the backdrop of the Kaisergebirge mountains, the summer festival brings powerful works such as Wagner's "Tristan und Isolde" and Schreker's "Der ferne Klang" to the stage, along with the Austrian premiere of Francesco Filidei's opera "Accabadora".

Program
The 2027 summer festival runs from 1 to 25 July and closes out the "Sehnsucht" season after the autumn, winter and Easter festivals. Major music theatre productions are at the centre of the program: Wagner's "Tristan und Isolde" alongside Schreker's rarely performed "Der ferne Klang" and the Austrian premiere of "Accabadora". The program is complemented by orchestral concerts from the festival orchestra under chief conductor Asher Fisch, plus chamber music and events in the "Zwischentöne" series. Most evening performances start at 7:00 PM; exact times and the full program are published ahead of the season.
Tickets
Tickets are available through the Tyrolean Festival Erl website and by phone through the box office. For the 2026/27 season, prices were adjusted: the cheapest tickets for staged opera performances now start at 70 euros, with top categories for premiere evenings priced considerably higher. Concerts and chamber music offer more affordable entry prices. Early booking is recommended, as popular performances sell out quickly.

- Book tickets early, especially for premieres and weekend dates.
- Erl is located in the Tyrolean lowlands near Kufstein; the easiest way to get there is by car or by train to Kufstein with a connecting bus.
- An overnight stay in the Kufsteinerland region pairs well with a festival visit.
- Bring warm clothing for the evenings, even though performances take place inside the Festspielhaus.
- The evening box office usually opens well before the performance starts; check the exact opening time in advance.
