Visitor Tips: Travel & Accommodation in Munich

  • Travel by U Bahn lines U4 or U5 to the Theresienwiese stop is recommended, as parking on site is limited
  • Late November and December typically bring cold, sometimes damp winter weather to Munich, so warm clothing is advisable
  • Accommodation in Munich should be booked early given the overlapping Christmas market season
  • Buying tickets early is recommended for popular circus and dance shows in the Grand Chapiteau
  • The market itself is closed on New Year's Eve; the separate December 31 party requires its own ticket
