When is Tons of Rock 2027?
Tons of Rock takes place from 23 to 26 June 2027 (Wednesday to Saturday), placing Norway's biggest rock and metal festival right after the summer solstice, when Oslo stays light well into the night. The festival has been voted Festival of the Year by its own audience multiple times in recent editions.
Where is Tons of Rock? Getting to Ekebergsletta, Oslo
The festival is held at Ekebergsletta inside Ekebergparken, high above Oslo with sweeping views over the Oslofjord (address: Kongsveien 23, 0193 Oslo). From central Oslo, the site is only minutes away: bus 34 runs directly to the festival grounds, tram 13 or 19 to Sportsplassen followed by a short walk through the sculpture park is another option, and it's roughly a 15 to 20 minute walk from the old town (Gamlebyen). Travelers arriving via the airport express train (Flytoget) reach Oslo S in about 20 minutes and can switch to the tram from there.

Visitor Tips for Oslo and Ekebergsletta
- Sign up for the newsletter on tonsofrock.no to catch Early Bird tickets, which often sell out within hours.
- Use a Ruter Zone 1 ticket for local transport; the official Ruter app tends to accept international cards more reliably than the ticket machines on site.
- Camping is not included in the festival pass and must be booked separately via Ticketmaster or tonsofrock.no.
- Children aged 3 to 9 get free admission if they are registered in advance through the festival's accreditation form before the deadline.
- Oslo in June is generally mild, but rain gear is still worth packing for an open air site by the fjord.
